MotoGP bosses have this morning announced the provisional 2018 MotoGP calendar with a question mark over which track will host the British round.
There is a slot provisionally booked for August 26 but at which venue is to be decided. Representatives from new Donington owners MSVR were at Misano last Thursday for talks but it remains to be seen whether Jonathan Palmer will be prepared to invest in infrastructure to bring the paddock up to spec.
Whichever track gets it, it is possibly another year where the traditional August Bank Holiday Cadwell Park BSB round will not take place.
The season will start, as usual, in Qatar in the middle of March but a week earlier this year before two flyways at Rio Hondo and Austin. Nothing huge has changed for the European ‘ground war’ with the summer break coming after the Sachsenring race on July 15.
Thailand slots in two weeks after Aragon’s race on October 7 before the traditional Japan, Australia and Malaysia races being held back-to-back, starting on October 21.
