Newly-crowned Aprilia Superteen Champion Rory Skinner has been selected to be part of the 2015 Red Bull Rookies Cup after a tough three-day selection programme at Guadix
The Scottish rider was the only Brit to make it through to the final shortlist and is joined by 11 other newcomers who will race against a selection of youngsters who will be invited back from this season. Skinner is one of two winners of this year's Bennetts/BSN Search for a Star and will be continued to be backed by the firm and mentored by ex-WSBK champ Neil Hodgson.
“The last three days has been really tough but I’ve enjoyed it and have learnt a lot, and I’m really looking forward to competing next year. It was nerve-wracking as there was so much at stake, but I kept calm and did what I had to do," said Skinner.
“It’s been an incredible year for me and I’m really happy with everything that I’ve achieved. It was an amazing feeling to win the Dunlop Aprilia British Superteen Challenge Championship at Donington Park on my 13th birthday; but being selected for the 2015 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is definitely the icing on the cake!”
