Valentino Rossi will decide whether or not to try and take part in Friday’s Aragon MotoGP free practice one by the end of tomorrow.
The Movistar Yamaha man rode an R1 at Misano yesterday in order to assess the state of the leg he broke two weeks ago in an enduro crash but rain stopped play after only a handful of laps. It is believed he will try to ride again today if it is dry.
“As today’s riding session was cut short due to the change in weather, the evaluation of Rossi’s physical condition was inconclusive. He will decide by the end of Wednesday, September 20th, whether he will attempt to take part in this weekends Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón,” said a team statement.
Michael ven der Mark has already been named at Rossi’s replacement at this weekend’s event but may have to sit out the opening session on Friday if The Doctor decides to try and ride. If Rossi feels comfortable enough, and is passed fit by medical staff, then the Dutchman’s debut will not happen.
