Buildbase BMW’s Taylor Mackenzie completed a clean sweep in this weekend’s Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship. The young Scotsman claimed pole position, fastest lap and his first win since 2010.

It was a lights to flag victory for the pole man. He claimed the holeshot and came under no pressure throughout the race in order to take his first win for six years.

The battle for the final podium places was filled with more drama. Tyco BMW’s Josh Elliot and Ian Hutchinson battled it out with Michael Rutter during the early encounters and then Hudson Kennaugh in the final moments.

Reigning champion and number one plate holder Elliot managed to edge clear of Hutchinson and Kennaugh but the Bingley man and South African threw everything at each other in the final laps.

Hutchinson held it on the final lap and Kennaugh showed him his front wheel on numerous occasions but couldn’t find a way through, meaning the multiple TT winner claimed his first British Championship podium since the horrific leg break at the very same circuit that so nearly cost him his career.

Rutter bagged fifth place ahead of Keith Farmer. Honourable mention must go the way of Ben Wilson who charged through from dead last at the first corner to seventh place after making a meal of the start.

Josh Wainwright, Johnny Blackshaw and Ben Godfrey all rounded out the top ten.
