Silverstone BSB: Guiver dominates to secure Ducati Cup title

Rob Guiver has lifted the 2018 Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup championship trophy a round early with a dominant double victory this weekend.

The Ducati Romford / Hyside Racing rider held off Lewis Rollo in both races as he sailed to an unassailable 55 point lead, with only 50 left on offer at Assen later this month.

Guiver and Rollo took off at the front of the field at the start of race one on Saturday, trading fastest laps all through the scrap before Guiver held off the young Scotsman by just 0.118s, once again denying the Highsparks Motorsport rider his first win as Boast Plumbing’s Levi Day bagged a lone third.

It was much the same story in race two, but this time Guiver wasn’t hanging around and with one hand already on the title, he led lights to flag and again beat Rollo to the line, this time by 3.476s, while Zoek Racing Team’s Sean Neary beat Phil Atkinson to the final rostrum spot.
