Snetterton BSB test: ‘Positive progress’ for crocked Linfoot

Crocked Honda Racing star Factory Dan Linfoot is pleased with the positive progress he has made since breaking his right wrist at the Brands Hatch MCE British Superbike round and turned in some laps at the Snetterton test.

Linfoot did a total of 43 laps over two and a half sessions with a best of 1’50.685which was less than a second slower than Honda test rider Julien da Costa but was limited because he didn’t want to do any further damage to the wrist

“I can feel it, it’s fairly sore but it is a good thing to get it working and there is no better exercise than riding. I didn’t think that sitting in hospital five and a half weeks ago I would be here doing some laps so it’s positive progress,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.

“I knew I wouldn’t be competitive here, it was always a case of seeing how I am, if I was passed fit and doing some riding. I have got to be happy with that, Jason has gone well, everyone’s times are fast.

“I have done my maximum to get my wrist in as good a shape as I can. I had to do a sensible amount of laps so as not to kill it. I am a bit disappointed as I want to be near the front but I went as fast as I can. We have to be happy with where I am at.

“I’ve lost some strength in my arm, so more physio and more movement work every day, keep the training up and get that side of my body back to where it should be. I was overcompensating when riding, in right-handers, I am taking all the weight off my right wrist and holding on too tight with the left, which is picking the bike up. Considering that, the lap times are not too bad.”
