WorldSBK bosses have this afternoon revealed the provisional 2017 race calendar which sees the welcome return of Portimao - for us at least - to the schedule but the loss of Jerez towards the end of the year with no massive summer break as seen in 2016.
Where Jerez usually sits is a gap which is likely to be filled by Valencia and there is no return to Monza. Sepang did not renew their contract with the organisation but fortunately, a shift of the Lausitzring round hand the addition of Portugal has filled in the summer gap.
The season-ending Qatar round does undergo a tweak as it will run from Thursday to Saturday while the Laguna Seca round in July is still subject to contract.
Official tests are planned for 20-21 February at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, 3 April at Aragón and 18 September at Portimao.
