Reigning MotoGP Champion Marc Marquez believes that Johann Zarco and Jorge Lorenzo will prove to be serious challengers to his crown in 2018 and puts them on the same footing as Andrea Dovizoso, Maverick Vinales, Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi.
Lorenzo struggled to adapt to the Ducati in 2017 while Zarco performed completely beyond anyone's expectation, easily winning Rookie of the Year and outpacing his works Yamaha counterparts on several occasions. Marquez thinks the two can be added to the danger roster for next year.
"I cannot say one name because one of the things that I learned this season is that you need to consider all the riders in the same way, the same level," said Marquez.
"I didn't expect Dovizioso like this, so next year I will keep focus a little bit more on for example Dovizioso, Valentino, Vinales, Pedrosa - but also I think Zarco and Lorenzo can be very fast too."
