Integro Yamaha’s Brad Jones took his maiden Dickies British Supersport win at Oulton Park today after team-mate and series leader Jack Kennedy crashed out on lap three.
Jones was in the podium fight right from lights-out and his quest for the first win was aided first as Alastair Seeley went down at Hizzy’s on lap two - resulting in what looked like a broken wrist - and then Kennedy went down unhurt at the same place a lap later.
The crashes left Jones to fight it out with newly-crowned GP2 king Kyle Ryde and Mason Law until the ABM Triumph man made an error and dropped out of contention.
Westmoreland, who was drafted back into the Gearlink Kawasaki team at Cadwell, was second in the Supersport race with a first podium for Richard Kerr.
Ryde, meanwhile, took his 16th GP2 win with Law second and Ross Sam Wilford in third place.
