Brands BSB: Engine upgrade positive for Mossey

JG Speedfit Kawasaki's Luke Mossey was the third fastest rider during the MCE British Superbike test session at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, and used today to try out the new 2017 engine.

During the last BSB round at Donington Park the JG Speedfit bikes were running the 2016 engine, and even though they worked really well Mossey has seen an improvement with the upgrade.

The Cambridgeshire rider lapped a 45.568, and set his quickest lap on the SC1 rear Pirelli tyre, but also felt comfortable on the softer option too. His crew made minimal changes to his ZX-10RR from the opening round and he is happy with his strong start.

"Feel really happy as did our quick time on the SC1, I think we could use both tyres depending on the temperature during the races, and was quickest on the SC1 but it is nice to do good times on both," said Mossey at the track, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

"We got a new engine now which is an upgrade for 2017, we had last year's engines at Donington and the new engines now. The new engine has more grunt, the engines we have been using are bloody good, but the new ones have more grunt but really happy for the start of the weekend and ready to go. We haven't really changed much from Donington. It is nice to be straight on the pace too."
